A Life Without Lack
3 minute guided scripture meditation and reflection: to identify the empty places of our soul, our thirsts and longings, and fill it with the living water of God’s truth.
Scripture: Psalm 23:1-3
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
Meditate and Receive:
You are my Lord, my leader, my shepherd. Because of who you ARE, I lack nothing. Because I have YOU, I lack nothing. I can trust you as my source and my good guide for life. Because YOU lack nothing. You are a generous God, abounding in loving kindness.
I feel like lost sheep sometimes, just wandering through the business of the day, hoping to stumble across peace, contentment and deep joy. Maybe I have wandered off.
But I know, my Good Shepherd is never lost. You never wander off. You are purposeful. You will not let me get lost. You will go after me if I wander. Come rescue me Lord.
Remind my soul that I need not wander, but just stay close to you, and I will lack nothing. You are leading me to green pastures. Your presence is the quiet water to my restless mind. Your presence refreshes my soul. I take this moment to dwell on your goodness, your leading, your wisdom, and your presence.
Spirit, come refresh my soul.
Reflect
In what areas of life do you feel like your needs are not met, you are lacking, or something is missing?
What would it look like to trust God for that need or go to him to be led through it?
Spend time reflecting on God’s nature.
Make a list of all the traits and qualities that come to mind. How might picturing these things help you trust God as the good shepherd of your life?
